The Current Situation

As it stands now, the MPAA and RIAA are making things more and more difficult to share music and movies, or even to back up your own legally bought music and movies.  This is being done using draconian copyright laws that make it possible to sue 10 year olds and people who haven't even done anything wrong(i.e. when someone else downloads something over your wireless connection).  These two organizations have been accused of aggressively pursuing action against generally law-abiding citizens in ways that run contrary to our democracy.
The purpose of this site is to inform and give an easy summary of what is happening and some of the actions being taken to remedy the situation.
